I joined Instagram’s Live Shopping team after they had launched the product’s first version.

As the Live Shopping team’s sole designer, I designed and shipped several features to help buyers discover, engage with, and purchase from brands and creators selling their products live.

We built several features that helped buyers discover Live Shopping events.

Scheduled Live Events

We helped people opt into reminders to tune in when a creator goes live to sell their products.

Live Shopping in Shop Tab

We helped people easily discover active, upcoming, and past live shopping events within the Shop Tab.

Live Shopping in Home Tab

We helped people easily discover active and past Live Shopping events related to their interests, directly on Home Tab.

We also built features that gave buyers reasons to purchase in the moment.

Social Proof

We helped people see how popular certain products were by showing how many people were purchasing, or adding the product to their cart or wishlist in real-time.

Watch and Browse

We helped people view product details, add to cart, and purchase products without leaving the livestream.

Live-Exclusive Sales

We allowed sellers to offer live-exclusive sales to encourage buyers to purchase their products before the livestream ends.

By the end of 2021, we doubled our GMV (gross market value) goal for the Holiday Season.

Additionally, our product features helped several high-profile sellers improve awareness and engagement around culturally-relevant Live Shopping moments.
